Asociación Cultural Piemontesa de Rafaela

The “Asociación Cultural Piemontesa de Rafaela” was founded in 1976, with different tasks: the first is the promotion of the union and friendship between men and women emigrant from Piedmont and also between their descendants, and the second is the improvemente of the economic, social, cultural and spiritual welfare in the community. In order to reach this goals this association organizes shows, festivals, traditional dances and it encourages the choirs’ group creation, the study of the region’s language, history, geography, social, economic and cultural life.

The following groups are members of the association:

  • the group of audult dancers, Compañia de Tradiciones Populares Argentinas/Piemontesas “L’Erbo” (Company of Piedmontese argentinian popular traditions) since 2003 ,
  • the group of young dancers Ballet “Piemont ardità d’amor” since 2005
  • the school Scòla “Parloma Piemontèis” since 1996

Compañia de Tradiciones Populares Argentinas / Piemontesas “L’Erbo”
(Company of Piedmontese/argentinian popular traditions «L’Erbo»)

This company was founded in 2003, under the coordination of Alcides Castagno and Cristian Vaurchuc. Its name comes from the homonymous group in Castiglione Torinese, considered as its artistic precursor. At present, the company performs a show representing the quiet atmosphere of the city which lives under the cycle of seasons and the works. For example: the grape harvest’s ritual, the long winter hours in the byre, the strawberries harvest, the preparations for the traditional festivals.
The costume is inspired by that used in the nineteenth century festivals. The group performs in regional festivals and in different cities of the area.
The group’s performances are often a good occasion to keep alive the nicest Piedmontese traditions and it has given a great contribution in maintaining a strong feeling for the traditions, which nowadays is really difficult!

Ballet Infantil – Juvenil “Piemont ardità d’amor” (Piedmont love inheritance)

The children – young people ballet “Piemont ardità d’amor” (Piedmont love inheritance) is the youngest group of the Associación Cultural Piemontesa de Rafaela (Piedmontese cultural association of Rafaela).
It was founded in 2005, with the task of offering the children and the young people a vision of the past where the Piedmontese traditions are still important and alive. Through the knowledge and the diffusion of the traditions, young people have the possibility to interpret the present and build a better future.
The group debuted in the work “Un Domingo Piemontés en Familia” (A Piedmontese Sunday with the family”), under the direction of Cristina Pacioretti de Blúa. This work represents some typical piedmonts dances of the seventeenth century and it was wonderfully interpreted by the dancers of the group.
The group performed in Lehman and Sunchales and during the Tradition festival organised by the School “Paolo Pizzurno” in our city.

Choir “Piemont ant ël cheur” (Piedmont in the heart)

The choir “Piemont ant ël cheur” (Piedmont in the heart) was founded in March 2007 under the coordination of Olga di Sandrone and Miguel Camperi. The choir aims at keeping alive the Piedmontese language through the singing, in order to rediscover the Piedmontese songs, which were so much used by our grandparents to express their feelings for their origins, for their native land and their loves. The performances of the group show also gratefulness towards all the men and women who founded our city and who left their native land with many illusions in the their heart.
The choir is composed by 30 people (men and women) and it is directed by the professor Dario Lell and the singer Alicia Garcia. It performed several times in our city, in other cities with Piedmontese origins, in the Cordoba Cathedral, , in churches, schools, nursery schools and old people’s home.
In May 2001 it performed a concert in Italy, in the Palazzo di Caccia in Stupinigi, in the Petrarca theater in Settimo Torinese and in the Vocational theater “Avanti Piemonteis” (“Come on Piedmontese”) in Fossano.
